In spite of what is said on Mercadonas homepage Mercadona was closed today! Which we found out only after going there and standing outside the locked doors. And not he slighthest information about when it was supposed to open again. (only a sign about the normal opening hours).

It’s a public holiday here today, so all the supermarkets will be closed and the staff will be at the Feria.

Hello Heidi, I’ve a slightly different idea….what about the donkey sanctuary? I’m sure they could use detergents, and they accept food donations that are suitable for the donkeys?

Hi, we are leaving Nerja after staying here for 2 months and have some food, detergents etc. left. Is there any organisation, that accepts such goods to give to homeless / people in need? Thanks for any tips!

Hi Heidi. There is no organisation that I am aware of that can take food etc. If you leave the stuff in the apartment the cleaners will probably give them a good home though.

Can you still physically shop there and have your shopping delivered in Nerja?

Yes you can. Ask in the shop how to go about doing it.
