On Sunday November 13th you can join a group walk from the Pinarillo picnic area above the Nerja Caves to the Cortijo Del Imán. This is an annual event organised by the ‘Patronato Municipal de Deportes’, the sports council of Nerja.
The walk is approximately 14km in length and takes around 8 hours to complete. Anyone wishing to take part should contact the organisation to register by calling 952527282 or ask in the tourist information office at the town hall.
All walkers should meet at 8am by the BP petrol station on Avenida Pescia where they will by taken by car to Pinarillo. Remember to take suitable clothing and food. Water will be provided during the whole of the walk.
The route will take you on a steady climb to the magnificently isolated ruin of the Cortijo del Iman located on the only flat piece of land in the area, often following the higher reaches of the Rio Chillar through cliff lined gorges and along gorse covered tracks.
The climb is about 750m from start to finish so you need to be pretty fit to complete the walk.
