Calle Pintada, Nerja is one of the main shopping streets in Nerja, lined with small shops from top to bottom. There are also a number of bars and restaurants and cafes on the street. Calle Pintada runs north to south, from Plaza Cantarero (near to the bus station at the top of town) almost all the way down to the Balcon de Europa.

As you get nearer to the bottom of the street, various small side streets branch off Pintada, such as Calle Gloria, with more bars and restaurants.

The bottom half of Pintada (from Calle Cruz onwards) is pedestrianised and this forms one side of the triangle of narrow streets, along with Calle Cristo and Gloria, which are the heart of the bar and restaurant district in the old part of Nerja. During the summer months this area is full of people enjoying the warm night air, eating and drinking at the pavement restaurants, or taking a stroll around town.

The top half of the street has more shops than bars, plus a few hostals (small hotels) and is a very convenient location to stay.

Beaches

The nearest beach to Calle Pintada is Calahonda beach, which is a few minutes walk from the end of the street. You can also head down Calle Carabeo to two smaller beaches Playa Carabeo and Playa Carabeillo. Carabeillo beach is actually the western end of Burriana Beach and you can walk along the beach from here all the way to the far end of Burriana, with its beach front bars and restaurants.
