The bodies of three members of a British family have been found, apparently shot dead, in a house in Torrenueva de Mijas this morning. The three are reportedly from the same family, being a husband and wife and their 20 year old daughter. The mother is described as having been disabled and the daughter suffered from Downs syndrome. The bodies of the two females were found covered by a blanket in one of the rooms of the house. The body of the father was found in the lounge.
The family had been renting a property for several years in the urbanisation. The Guardia Civil are investigating the deaths, one theory being that the father shot his wife and daughter before committing suicide.
According to reports, the owner of the property had been unable to contact the family for several weeks and on visiting the property, saw the body of the man in the lounge, at which point he called the Guardia Civil.
Agents from the Guardia Civil then entered the property and found the other two bodies, apparently with gunshot wounds, covered with a blanket. An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
