The lifeguard service starts this weekend in Nerja and will cover the beaches at Maro, Burriana, Carabeillo, Calahonda, El Salon, Torrecilla, El Chucho and El Playazo.
The lifeguard stations in Burriana and Torrecilla will act as coordination points for the other stations. There will be 51 lifeguards in total.
In addition to the lifeguards, there is also a high speed RIB boat that patrols from Maro to Nerja and a jetski is also available for rescues.
