The Nerja Feria is officially in honour of the patron saint of the town the Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel. At the end of September the patron saint is carried in a procession from the sanctuary of the chapel of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias to El Salvador church on the Balcon de Europa. This takes place on Saturday September 29th at 8.30pm.
On the first day of the Feria (Wednesday the 10th October 2012) at 8.30pm the statue is carried back to the chapel from the church on the Balcon accompanied by San Miguel Arcángel.
