Called a few times this week. Under new ownership but still one of the best in Nerja owned by a young, very hardworking Morrocan guy called Reduan and he does fantastic tapas. Give this guy some support as he really does deserve it.

what a shame,miguel & mercedes were fantastic hosts with the best tapas in town.i understood from miguel when there in january that they had no immediate plans to take on a new bar.let’shope that after a well earned rest they reappear later in the year.

Unfortunately the Taberna del Pescador has closed for good. Apparently the landlord wanted to increase the rent to an unaffordable level. Its a shame, the tapas were excellent.

best san miguel in town & best tapas also.can look/sound a bit daunting but be brave & go in you’ll receive a warm welcome.

Hi recommend Taberna Del Pescador, great tapas and ice cold beer, this place is a must for anyone who is interested in tapas, really nice owners. see ye in December.

The Taberna del Pescador (closed on Monday) is in the old part of town (see map) – about five minutes walk from the Balcon De Europa. It is on the same street as the Post Office (although the name changes), just keep walking until you find it on your left hand side, just past El Niño restaurant and tapas bar.

we have known miguel y mercedes for 8 years now no matter where they are fantastic hosts, mercede’s cooking is estupendo & they are good friends now, we can’t wait to see them in deciembre & introduce them to our new baby girl ….the locals who frequent it are also very welcoming, don’t walk on by without calling in, you’ll regret it if you do!!

I met Miguel yesterday,he is now working in Pepe Mesa on Playazo. Said the greedy landlords have made it very hard to make a decent living from running a bar , so he doesn’t think he will bother trying to open somewhere else.
