Just a few years ago there was a limited choice of places to go if you wanted an authentic British style Indian meal in Nerja. Those dark days have thankfully passed and these days visitors and residents have a much wider choice of places to go, centred on the mythical “curry triangle” of Los Huertos, Calle Cristo and Calle Carabeo, where there are a total of three Indian restaurants and one takeaway. Not exactly Manchester’s Curry Mile, or in fact most high streets in the UK, but if you are here for a weeks holiday, you can make your way around the curries on offer and only have to brave foreign (i.e. Spanish) food on one night of your holiday and you can even avoid that if you try a kebab instead on your last night.

Los Huertos alone has two curry houses (the Bollywood Bombay and the Jaipur) and an Indian takeaway (which also does kebabs). On Calle Cristo there is the long established Haveli and down on Calle Carabeo is the Taste Of India, which has tables out the front during the summer, and a internal courtyard year round.

On the other side of town you can also find the aptly named Curry House near to the Riu Monica hotel.

Our recommendation would be to start with the Bollywood Bombay and work your way around the triangle in an anti-clockwise direction, possibly making a detour between the Haveli and the Taste of India to try the Curry House at Torrecilla beach.

If you are here for two weeks do the circuit twice, starting and finishing your holiday with a kebab from the takeaway on Los Huertos (perhaps with Onion Bhajis as a side dish).
